Sleek Makeup Caribbean Collection Aruba Blush & Bonaire Pout Polish- Review, Swatches & LOTD

Hi everyone

After reviewing the Curacao i-divine palette of Sleek Makeup’s Caribbean Collection, my readers have sent me many mails to review the Aruba Blush and Bonaire Pout Polish. So today I'm reviewing these other two things of this collection. Hope you find it helpful & like it :)

Aruba Blush

It’s a bright matte orange blush which is a part of the Caribbean Collection.

Price

£4.29

What Sleek Makeup says

Be brave and brighten your look with a cheeky hint of coral and turn into a bird of paradise with Caribbean inspired colors!

Packaging

Comes in a very handy small box. Inside it you'll find a wide mirror on one side & the blush on the other.

Shade

It’s a bright orange shade which gives a lovely coral shade on your cheeks after applying with a light hand.

Texture

Silky and smooth, so pigmented that after touching it for the first time, you might hesitate in applying it on your cheeks thinking that it may be too bright & bold.

In the mirror of my own experience

As I told you that when I saw it for first time on the net, the first thought of mine was ‘ hey it’s not for me' & even after touching it my thoughts were the same but when I applied it on my cheeks I was amazed to see its lovely shade and finish. I applied it with a very light hand & gentle strokes so it gave a soft orangish coral look to my cheeks. All my hesitation had gone on seeing the shade. I can apply it very comfortably for my holiday tours to any hill station or sea side even at day time and it’ll be a great option for a night party so I really love this blush ♥♥

The lasting power is amazing. It can stay easily for 5 to 6 hours without any reapplying. In my opinion, no one wants more lasting power in a blush. If you want more, you could get longer wears by using a primer or a cream blush underneath. Like many others I also feel it a cheaper dupe for Nars Taj mahal!!

Good points

I love the packaging which is so handy and I can carry it out very easily for any visit.

Love its matte silky texture.

The pigmentation and smoothness is great.

You can get a lovely coral look after applying it with gentle strokes.

It can make your holidays colorful.

It can be toned down for lighter complexion and can be carried well by darker ones as well.

With a very light application, you can get a natural look which would be perfect for any day occasion.

If you are going for a night party, apply it with a shimmery highlighter. Your cheeks will get radiant just like the lights and it’ll be impossible for anyone to ignore you easily...haha!!!

The lasting power is very impressive keeping the price in mind.

Again I can say that after getting these many qualities, the cost looks unbelievable.

Bad points

If you like light and natural makeup, this blush is not for you.

There is no brush provided with this blush so never forget to carry out your own blush applicator if you are going for a holiday.

Final thoughts

Finally there is no need to say that it’s an impressive product which is definitely a worth buy. The quality, the texture, the intensity, the cost…all are great and incredible ♥♥

Recommendation

This is a definite repurchase for me & I will highly recommend it to all my readers.

Bonaire Pout Polish

The last thing of this collection is this Bonaire Pout Polish which a tinted lip conditioning balm.

Net weight

10g

Price

£4.29

What Sleek Makeup says

A tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils as well as having a high SPF of 15, giving you gorgeous conditioned lips that are protected from the Sun’s harmful rays.

Packaging

It comes in a round pot with the contents inside. Very handy & travel friendly. The lid has a beautiful design of a boat & palm showing the Caribbean.

In the mirror of my own experience

Many girls are afraid of wearing orange lips due to the fact that it may look funny or too bold. But here is the solution to your fear & problem. This Bonaire Pout Polish is a funky coral tinted balm which is very wearable & is not too dark or intense. It moisturizes the lips nicely giving it a light coral shade which looks fabulous with dark eye makeup. It has a lovely caramel sort of fruity smell also which made me feel as if it was something edible!! Another great thing is that it has SPF 15 which provides sun protection to the lips. It’s great for everyday use & I’m loving this Pout Polish!!

Good Points

Very moisturizing and non-sticky.

Not too bold & bright.

Has SPF 15 which is a great quality.

Love the fruity, yummy smell!!!

Great for everyday use, but you need to apply it skilfully.

Again, the product is worth the price!!

LOTD

Bad points

Has to applied using a brush coz a finger application may not be very hygienic.

The lasting power is not very impressive; just 2-3 hours & then you need to reapply it.

So girls what do you think about this blush & lip pout?? Have you tried it...if not; you are definitely missing out a lot!!!!

P.S.- FOTD & EOTD using the whole collection coming soon!

Nature's Brilliance By Sue- Butter lipstick, Mineral Blush/Eye color- Review & swatches

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well!!

Today's review is all about these lovely products so take a look:

They are a Mineral Color Set including:
Cranberry Butter lipstick
Mineral Blush/Eye color

So firstly I'm gonna review this Cranberry Butter Lipstick in the shade: 002LS Bronze Star

Ingredients:
Ingredients: Pure Cranberry Butter (Pure Cranberry Fruit, Shea Butter, Jojoba), Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Lecithin (Vegetable Source), Castor Seed Oil, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (Vegetable Source), Olive Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Soybean Lipids, Carnauba Wax, Candelillia Wax, Natural Vitamin E, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Mica, Iron Oxide.

Packaging:

The packaging is pretty impressive...comes in a black covering packing body and opens easily with a click....something like revlon matte lippies!!

Price:
$10

Shade

It’s a tea rose pink or some kind of dirty brownish pink shade with shimmers. The shimmer with this shade looks so pretty!!

Texture

The texture of this lipstick is creamy and buttery. The pigmentation is wonderful. It spreads so softly on my lips in only one or two swipes.

In the mirror of my own experience

To be honest when I first opened this lipstick I was not much impressed because I don’t like shimmery lip colors and I have often noticed that the lipsticks of many famous brands which include shimmers in them are not much pigmented. Sometimes after applying only shimmer particles show on the lips which looks quite weird. And that was my first impression about this lipstick as well but after applying it on my hand, I was totally proved wrong because it’s highly pigmented with such a creamy and buttery texture. The shade looks so pretty…God I’m very impressed. I have used it 2 times. The lasting power of this lipstick is also quite impressive. This lipstick is available in 22 different shades HERE.

Good points

The texture of this lipstick is creamy, soft & velvety.

Pigmentation is amazing.

The required shade only needs one or two swipes.

I love its lasting power: 5-6 hour without reapplying.

The ingredient of this lipstick is totally natural so there is no need to fear for harmful chemical on your lips.

Very light weight.

Can be worn with both light or dark outfits.

It’s water proof. You can drink your favorite drink without any tension of your shade getting fade.

Bad points

Just a small bad point which I feel should be mentioned and that is, the silver shimmers in the lipstick are not easy to remove using a common cleanser.

Final thoughts

I love this lipstick. Love its texture, its shade and pigmentation. This lipstick can make your evening pleasant.

Rating

4.5/5

So now let's come on to the Mineral Blush/Eye color

It’s a mineral blush plus eye shadow. One can use it in both ways.

Shade

It’s a light tea rose pink shade very much similar with lipstick with silver shimmers. The shade is quite incentive.

Texture

It’s a mineral powdery texture which is very easily spread on both of the eyelids and cheeks.

In the mirror of my own experience

During applying at first time, it seems quite shimmery on my eyes and on the cheeks which was a bit uncomfortable. But next time when I applied it, I was careful about it and gave a light touch on my lids and cheeks. Then blended it with my Revlon mineral powder. And the result was quite impressive. The light shimmers gave my face a healthy glow and it looked natural as well. So I have decided to apply it lightly in the future. But for any festivals or special occasions, the shimmers will look adorable.

Good points

It's mineral so won't harm your skin.

Works as a blush and eye shadow at the same time so no need to take an extra blush or shadow.

Gives a very pretty and healthy glow to your cheeks and eyes.

It absorbs so wonderfully in your skin as if a part of your skin’s natural glow.

Bad points

The texture is powdery so there is a lot of fallout but as you can use it as a blush so you can blend it after applying on the lids.

If you don’t want to apply it as a blush you have to remove it with your foundation. So if you want to save your foundation, apply your foundation after applying the shadow on your lids.

It’s so shimmery so you shouldn't wear it with a daily wear or for office.

Final thoughts

Finally I can say that it’s a lovely product. Being a mineral product I can use it without any tension. It can make your festival look beautiful.

3.5/5

Mac Trace Me Gold blush- Blush or Highlighter??

Hey everyone,
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!! Didn't get time to do any posts since the past 2-3 days and yesterday even blogger was not up which must have disappointed most of us...isn't it?
Anyhow, today I'm here with a short review on one of my fave blush-Mac Trace me gold

Mac Trace Me gold:

This is a sheer tone shimmer blush. Dull peachy-golden shade and can be perfectly used as a highlighter more than a blush. It's a lovely one for summers and it gives a fabulous bronzy look!!

The texture is very smooth, pearly and it's quite pigmented too. Just 2-3 swipes and i get my right shade.
It enhances the beauty of many other blushes too like corals & pinks.
Good for everyday wear and can be used by both medium and fair skin tones.
The staying power is very impressive as most of the Mac blushes have: 5-7 hrs.
Quite buildable.

While doing any festive makeup this is my must-have and it gives a pretty glow to the face.

The swatches:

Some Bad points:

This blush is not complete in itself as it will only look good with other blushes as it'll add shimmer to them.

Overall:
But anyways, this blush is perfect for me as I don't use much of bright colored blushes and it is a must have for me.

Rating:
3.90/5

Recommend:
As I've already mentioned that if you're a fan of colorful blushes, you might not like this but if you're looking for a perfect highlighter then this is it!!

So girls, hope this review is helpful. What do you think about this blush?? Have you tried it?? Don't forget to share your views with me through the comment section!!

Nars Oasis Blush

Meet one of my favorite blushes ever, Nars Oasis...

Nars describes it as a "sparkling pink champagne"
Oasis is a gorgeous rosy/mauvey/raspberry with gold shimmer/glitter. Not quite pink champagne in my opinion ;) The color is sooo flattering and I can see it working on a variety of skin tones. It looks wonderful on pale tones (I'm about NC20-25 right now) but when my skin gets darker in the summer, it looks just as lovely. I tried capturing the gold shimmer in the photos, if you close up on them you'll probably be able to see them. Matte blush lovers probably want to stay away, but if you like a bit of shimmer and sheen on your cheeks Oasis is perfect. For the daytime, I just tap my brush off realllly well and have no issue with the glitter, it just disappears when you blend it into your cheeks.

On a side note, I thought in person Nars Sin and Oasis looked quite similar in the pan, but on me, Sin made me look a bit bruised--I think it had too much purple in it for me. I think Oasis could definitely work for those that felt the same way I did about Sin.

As usual with all my Nars blushes, the pigmentation is fantastic and it lasts all day for me. Definitely a must have in a blush collection (well, mine at least, I wear this one all the time!).

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush, Amused

Yesterday I went on the hunt for a cool toned pink blush. I realized I am very much lacking in that department as most of my blushes lean warm. At Sephora I came across the new Tarte amazonian clay long wear blushes and decided to try one out! I picked up "Amused."

oooh prettyyyy
I simply love this blush! The packaging is sturdy (and cute!), pigmentation is wonderful and it blends smoothly. Tarte claims 12 hours of wear and although I didn't test this out for 12 hours yet, it did last at least 7 hours on me (I took my makeup off after that time lol). That works for me! I also love that it is formulated without parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, etc... It's without a doubt a very high quality and natural product.

I bought it at Sephora for $25. I would definitely say the Tarte quality is on par with my beloved Nars blushes ($27 at Sephora) and my 3 Rock and Republic Blushes. I realllly don't need any more blushes, but I don't think I will be able to resist another one! I already have my eyes set on Blissful! Amused is definitely a unique color in my blush collection!

Have you tried out these blushes? Thoughts?

Nars Luster Blush

Here is Nars Luster blush! Another one, like madly, that looks a little lackluster (heh heh) in the pan. But don't be fooled! Luster is a warm, frosty golden peachy apricot with subtle golden shimmer. There's no glitter in this blush, but it does give off a nice sheen. If you don't like shimmery blushes, stay away! For me, Luster is THE perfect golden goddess summer cheek, I always reach for it in the summer months. I especially love it when my skin is more tan; the golden shimmer is just stunning. It would be lovely on pale skin tones but with a lighter hand so it doesn't get too orange!

Nars description: "Sheer Golden Apricot." Pretty accurate description in my opinion.
Swatched on the left and blended on the right. The swatches above are more true to color!

Many makeup lovers online have said that if Orgasm didn't work for them, Luster definitely did. They both have a similar effect on the cheek as both are quite shimmery, but I find Luster to be much softer in texture. They both have peachy golden undertones & golden shimmer but Orgasm leans more pink while Luster leans more gold (at least on my skin-I'm about nc20-25 right now). Both gorgeous and different enough to justify having both ;) I forgot to swatch it with Madly, but Luster is much more shimmery and golden while Madly is beige.

As with all my other nars blushes the pigmentation and texture is perfect--smooth, buildable, blendable. This is definitely a shade, like orgasm, that will be flattering on most skin tones! If you're looking for a glowy blush, don't hesitate to try Luster!

Nars Madly Blush

Here's my second Nars blush post. I got Nars Madly a few months ago when I wanted to find a nice neutral blush. I'm always drawn to corals and pinks, so this was a big change for me! At the time I debated between mac blushbaby (still pretty!), nars douceur (didn't show up on me), then i discovered nars madly and i'm so glad i did...

Nars calls it a "seashell pink" but on my skin it shows up as a beautiful, shimmery beige with a tiny touch of peachy-pink. Definitely more tan/brown than pink. In the pictures it does look like it could be worn as a bronzer, but i wouldn't: it's much too shimmery. It adds a perfect glow to the cheeks but I think it would be too much if used all over the face. It's also very pigmented so I have to be careful when applying it or it just looks muddy.
Definitely a perfect, neutral blush for a little cheek definition.I especially like using it with strong lip looks...it looks lovely with light shimmery eyes and red lips. As with all my Nars blushes, it blends beautifully and lasts all day. Madly is definitely another blush love of mine!

Nars Deep Throat Blush

You'll have to excuse me, lately I've been on an intense Nars kick. I love my newly acquired shadows so much, I figured I'd go through and post some pictures and thoughts on all of my blushes over the next few weeks!
First blush I'm going to show you is Nars Deep Throat. I've only had this one for about 2 months now and I really love it! Nars describes it as "peach with shimmer."

Heavy swipe on the left, then blended out on the right.

The color is beautiful, it definitely shows up as the perfect blend of peach and baby pink. There's a very subtle shimmer to add a nice glow to the cheeks, but not enough to effect the texture: it's smooth and pigmented enough to just need a little bit on the brush. When I'm not sure what color to use on my cheeks, this one is usually a safe bet--it goes with nearly every look! As with all of my Nars blushes, it lasts the whole day on me. Check it out if you haven't, nars blushes are my favorite!

Mac MC Sur blush- Review, Swatches & pics

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great week?? :D

As most of you must be knowing that I had bought Mac and Mickey contractor’s Gulabi & Mehr lipsticks but now here i have one more product added to my cosmetics from this collection :)

Mac Mickey Contractor Sur blush review-

I really like using blushes, but never happened to pick one from Mac except the beauty powder from VV collection. Even this time i just had two lippies but around two weeks ago one of my friend from Mumbai happened to visit me in Dehradun. she had come here for attending some marriage and I urged her to stay at my place for a day coz we happen to meet very rarely. It was she who owned this blush and when i saw it i was really enchanted by it’s beauty!! So it was then when i asked her to give this blush to me and I just paid her and ta daa…now it’s mine!! :D :D

She had bought the blush just one or two weeks before and hadn’t even used it once! She didn’t like the shade much but for me this shade is really fabulous!!

What i like about this blush-

Sur is a dirty plumy rose and it has a satiny sheen to it, giving my cheeks a lovely glowly finish :)

The texture is very smooth, pearly and is very pigmented. Just one swipe and i get my right shade :)

A good blush for everyday wear and a goes along very well with medium skintones. Even light ones like mine and darker ones will like it.

The quantity is good and won’t finish soon. As I don’t use dark blushes much so this is gonna last me for years!!

The blush lasts almost all day long on me, especially in winters. In summers it can stay for about 5-6 hours, maybe.

It is buildable.

Price- Rs 1150 but i got it in Rs 800

What i don’t like about this blush-

The shade is a bit dark for fair skintones.

The price is not decent….but that doesn’t matter much.

Rating- :) :) :) :) .5\5

So ladies…overall I would say that now I’m in love with Mac blushes sand now will surely get one or two more especially a golden one!! :-*

What do you think about this blush…have you tried it??
