How I store my Nail Polishes

Hi girls!!

I was asked a long time ago to show how I store my nail polishes. but I completely forgot about it, and today I remembered so I decided to do it.
I store my nail polises in one drawer, so they are away from sunlight, and they will not dry as fast.
I bought a little box with compartments from IKEA which cost me £13.27, and I think it is perfect for my needs, and fits all my nail polishes and more as my nail polish colection tends to grow almost every week!
I'll leave you some pictures so you can have an idea on how it all looks.

XOXO

XOXO

Nails of the Day - N.O.T.D.,

This Models Own Nail polish is the one I am wearing now and it's called Top Turquoise, for me it is the perfect colour for summer, as it is bright, and gorgeous. I am sure I will be wearing it a lot this summer. And also Models Own nail polishes last longer in my nails than any other nail polishes I own, they last me 5 days without starting to chip!! So great varnish :)

The World's most expensive nail polish

Models Own, lauched the most expensive nail polish back in November. At £83,000, it is called Gold Rush when painted looks like a gold leaf as it glimmers and sparkles like it contains tiny little dimonds. Do I like it? Yes I do. Would I buy it even if I could afford it? No.

Models Own, lançou o verniz mais caro do mundo em novembro. Custa £ 83.000, chama-se Gold Rush, e quando pintado parece-se como uma folha de ouro com lampejos e brilhos como se contém minúsculos dimantes. Gosto dele? Sim, eu faço. Compraria-o mesmo  que o pudesse pagar? Não.

Party Season is here!!

We all want to look and feel great during the holiday season, and one of the most important things to make us feel great is nail polish. I am going to make some sugestions on great nail polishes for the party season.

Golden Tones are great for the holidays, my personal favourits are Models Own Champagne only £5 that you can get here. E.L.F. - Eyes Lips Face, also has this great golden sparkly nail polish which is only £1.50 that you can get it here.

I Love Revlon's Party Collection, especially the Green Emerald Sparkly nail polish, they also have a red Ruby that I also really like.

Topshop has the Heavy Duty Collection, which overal has great makeup for the party season, but as I am talking about nail polish they have two great colours in this collection. They have a dark navy blue called Nails in Future, and also a metalic kahki called Nails in Grunge. These nail polishes are £6 and you can get them here.

E.L.F. has also this sparkly dark purple, which is also great for the holiday season. You can get it here.

Chanel's Khaki Nail Polish Collection

OK, so I have to admit, the first time I saw these nail polishes i knew I had to get them, I absolutely fell in Love with these colours. Khaki Vert, Khaki Brun and Khaki Rose are absolutely lovely colours, the only problem was the price.

I came across some pretty similar colours at a fraction of the price. Both Topshop and Models Own launched very similar nail colours, which really grabbed my attention, and the best, they are at a fraction of the price.

They are quite similar to the Chanel, I actually own the Green Khaki, and the Terracotta colours, and I can tell you that they are great. The name of these Topshop nail polishes are, Moving House, Geography Teacher and Utilitarian. I will be reviewing them on another post.
The Models Own colours are also quite similar, I have never used a Models Own nail polish, but when I do I shall review it. These nail polishes are called Grace Green, Becca's Brown and Purple Ash.

Quick NOTD

I've been trying to switch up my nail polish more regulary because I have so many colours and I always end up wearing the same ones.

Yesterday I put on Plum Play With Me from Catrice, and I added glitter on my thumbs and ring fingers. For the glitter I used one coat of Models Own's Purple Haze and one coat of Bourjois' Paillettes Disco. I love the glitter, might actually put it on all my nails some time.

Here are the pictures:

That's it for now, more notd's coming up!

Nail Polish Haul Cardiff

Just got back from a trip to Cardiff a couple of days ago. While I was there I picked up a couple nail polishes. After recieving my Models Own polishes, I definitely wanted to try more of them, so I went to Boots to have a look. Unfortunately they didn't have all the colours in stock so only picked up 2 colours. Magenta Pearl and Purple Mystique. I love these colours! They were a bit more sheer than the cremes so I applied 3 coats to get them nice and even.

With that purchase I recieved a £5 off voucher for the N°7 and Ruby & Millie line. So before going home, I made quick stop at Boots. I wanted a nail polish that didn't look like anything I already had and Night Silver from N°7 caught my eye. It's a very dark silver, gunmetal kind of colour. Looks darker in person than on the photos (due to flash).

Lastly, I went looking for Mushroom from Barry M. After I heard Lollipop26 (check out her youtube channel here and blog here) talk about it, I decided I had to have it lol. She compaired it to Essie's Mink Muffs and Chanel's Particulière in this blog post.
Again, this colour looks alot lighter in the pictures because of the flash. Also took a picture with artificial lighting.

When I saw it in person, I thought it would look alot like a polish from Catrice I already had. But when I compared them, they looked less similar then I thought they would. I also compaired it to Models Own's Nude Beige. Nude Beige is alot lighter and From Dusk To Dawn from Catrice is more of a taupe.

That's it for today. I'll be posting my make up haul soon!

Have a nice weekend!

Models Own Sale Haul

A while ago I posted about the 50% off sale Models Own was having for their Facebook fans. I obviously couldn't pass on that offer and placed an order a couple hours after the sale went live. I know from reading the comments on their facebook wall that a lot of people had problems with their orders. Mine went through after trying a couple times so I'm not complaining. I also noticed that they replied to comments and questions very quickly, especially considering how busy it was. So I think their customus service is excellent!

My Models Own goodies arrived last friday, a week after I placed my order (I live in Belgium). Everything arrived in one piece so I'm a very happy customer :)

I always find it difficult to get a good idea of what the colour of a certain product looks like in person from the pictures you see online. So before I ordered I searched for nail polish swatches. I chose colours that I didn't already have and hadn't seen in drugstores here in Belgium. Also added a white and a black cause the ones I have need like a million coats to get them opaque.

So here are the things I got:

Polishes from left to right (5 cremes and 5 glitters):
- Snow White
- Peach Sherbet
- Nude Beige
- Purple Grey
- Black Magic
- Mixed Up
- Disco Mix
- Purple Haze
- Magenta Divine
- Silver Spangle

- Black + Purple Sparkle Powder Eyeshadow
- Natural Curl Lash

Close up picture of the eye shadow:

Blurred to show purple sparkle

Close up of the lashes:

They are called Natural Lash and when I saw the picture on the website they did look the most natural of the ones they had, thats why I got them. But they are very very long, which is actually a good thing cause I have a couple pair of false lashes that look similar but they aren't this long. They'll look great with dramatic eye makeup.

I swatched the nail polishes and tried to get the colours as accurate as possible. All swatches are 3 coats, but only Snow White and Peach Sherbert (looks more yellow on the pictures, more peach in person) really needed 3. Really happy with the glitter polishes too. Bought them to put on top of other polishes and the glitter looks really nice with one coat.
Polishes in same order as above:

Blurred so you can see the glitter better. So sparkly!

Natural light

I can't wait to try each one on my nails and use the glitters over different polishes. I'll be posting more swatches of each polish on my nails and different combinations with the glitter polishes.

I'm going to Wales for a couple days on thursday and I'll definitely check out Models Own's other products and I look forward to seeing their full range of polishes in person and possibly pick up a couple more of them.

Definitely check out there website here and thanks again to Models Own for this amazing sale!
