Drug Store Favorites!! Revlon Lipstick!!!
This is my last entry of my drug store favorites. There are more but I realized that I could go on. Sometimes I will just go in the drug store and browse and try some things out and see how I like them. Especially when I'm on a budget but have that itch for some makeup but on a serious budget!!
I've done a post before on Revlon's lipsticks. I absolutely love these lipsticks!! The consistency is so creamy and smooth. They glide on with ease and the pigmentation is unbelievable!! As I stated in another post about Revlon's lipsticks is that they were some of the first lipsticks to make it into my kit. "Mauve it Over" is my favorite!! It is such a great nude and natural color for all skin types. It's usually the color I go to for my brides.
Pros:
~Sold at drug stores(easy to find)
~Reasonably Priced(Always a sale going on)
~Great Coverage and pigmentation
~Lots of colors to choose from
Cons:
~NONE

Top Ten Favourite Summer Nail Polishes
From Left to Right:
Orly Rage - An amazing metallic rose gold. I love metallic nails in summer as they really catch the sunshine. This is equally pretty at Christmastime.
OPI Dim Sum Plum - I love this deep pink shade for toes in particular.
Orly Fancy Fuchsia - This is more vibrant in person than it looks in photos. Texture is a bit goopy but I really love the colour. It's a gorgeous Barbie pink.
Barry M Lemon Ice Cream - I did a post about this one a while back. It's a nice cheery yellow (:
CND Guava - A lovely peach. It's quite a soft colour so it's a good option for something which is still bright but not fluorescent or over the top. CND polishes are great quality too.
Revlon Tropical Temptation - I think this is the perfect coral shade. It doesn't have too much red, pink or orange in it - just the perfect balance!
Rimmel Coralicious - This is more of a red coral. I like this one on my toes especially with Tropical Temptation on my fingers.
Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream - A gorgeous sky blue!
Essie Coat Azure - This is a medium blue with a slight bit of shimmer. It definitely reminds me of the sea!
Rimmel Sky High - A nice medium turquoise colour.
Hope you like my picks for summer!

Revlon PhotoReady Powder-Review, Swatches & photos
Everywhere the weather’s just hot hot hot…don’t you feel it?
I live in a city which is not much affected from the heat unfortunately now the days here get sooo hot. I know about the damn hot weather in Delhi. God, I can’t imagine to go out in such a hot weather but I know that thousands of girls and women have to go out in this weather and no doubt they have to make themselves ready with their makeup and outfit too. What do you do then? Light and cool shade’s clothes which are comfortable too and makeup….ohhh..i hate to do makeup in such a weather but if I have to do it I prefer a very light makeup which not only shows light but also feels the same. These days most of the time I stay away from makeup and sometimes when I do do it I never apply foundation. I apply my Revlon PhotoReady powder and believe me it’s not only very light weight but gives a very fine look to my face.
So thought of reviewing this product today…take a look:
Revlon PhotoReady Powder
This is a light weight compact powder which has bits of sparkles in it which looks so natural on the face.
What it claims
Delivers soft colour with a luminous air-brushed finish
·Reduces shine and evens out skin tone
·Sets makeup for a poreless appearance
·Micro-fine, ultra-lightweight, creamy pressed powder formula
·Oil free, Fragrance Free
·SPF 14
Application Tips: Using brush applicator, swirl into powder and tap off excess. Apply over entire face, smoothing over forehead, nose, chin and jawline. Can be worn alone or over foundation.
Shades: Fair/light, Light/Medium & Medium/Deep
Net weight: 7.1g
Price: Rs. 850/-
Packaging
It comes in a very classy packaging and I love it. Black packaging looks very elegant.
Now let’s talk about the inside of the box. The box opens easily with a click and we find our compact powder with a beautiful, useful brush and a mirror along attached to its lid.
The brush
I was pleasantly surprised by the brush that comes inside the case- it was a nice, soft flat brush rather than the puff that comes along with most of the other powders. Honestly speaking, a brush is always better than a puff...at least for me.
In the mirror of my own experience
In summers I always use a compact powder for going out because in winters only a moisturizer is well enough for my skin but during summers a powder must be there to prevent the unnecessary shine that can be caused by sweatiness. Now I’ll want to tell something about the powder. When I applied it for first time, I couldn’t believe what a difference it made to my complexion after stippling it onto my face! It's extremely lightweight, it gives an airbrushed finish. This is the product that sets your foundation but at the same time instead of making it look cakey and dry, it leaves your skin looking flawless and irresistible for photos! This powder gets on very lightly and smoothly and disappears into the skin that I didn't notice any shimmer, but it did seem to diffuse the imperfections. It does not have a very high coverage power, so it won't hide anything other than a little redness, but I wear it alone these days and it’s perfect for me. What I also like about this powder is that it gives me a little bit of shimmer and it has SPF 14. I can use it to set my Photoready foundation as well.
Good points
- It blends well.
- So easy to apply.
- Very light weight and gives a buildable natural coverage.
- It controls the shine.
- It doesn't cake at all, even on dry skin.
- It doesn’t settle in creases.
- It’s long lasting. No need to reapply again & again.
- It gives a silky finish to the skin.
- It gives a healthy glow to your face as it contains some shimmers.
- For setting the foundation it’s an ideal powder.
- Suitable for every skin tone.

Bad points
- It’s a light weight powder which gives only a natural coverage so if you want a heavy coverage powder for your face, you can’t use this all alone.
Final thoughts
I’m highly impressed with this powder. It’s a powder to which I’d been looking for a long time. I don’t like heavy coverage powder. Hate the cakey effect which most of powders give to the skin. I think it’s an ideal powder even if you want to hide your spots. But you shouldn’t wear this alone, because in my opinion none of the compacts are able to hide all the spots on your face and if any compact is able to do this, no doubt it’ll be heavy in weight. So in my opinion it’s better that if you apply a light foundation on your face first then set it with this powder which is so light weight.

Recommendation
I’ll really recommend it to my friends and my readers. Only want to say please give it a try and then see its effect.
Will I buy it again?
Again and again.
So girls, have you tried this pressed powder yet? What are your opinions about this powder? I’ll surely want to know.

Revlon Photoready foundation-Review, Swatches & photos(how to apply through a simple tutorial by pictures)
Hope everyone is doing well!!
As many of my readers already know that one of my favorite makeup brands is Revlon for sure!! My foundation, compacts, concealer, eyeliner, favorite lip shades etc etc…are all from Revlon as their products have never disappointed me.
Quite recently I’d reviewed Revlon Colorstay foundation and through that review you must have got an idea about how much I adore that foundation.
I was very excited on seeing Revlon’s Photoready range being launched in India as all the products in that range just looked fabulous. And now I’m just more than happy to review this Revlon Photoready foundation. Take a look guys and see what I have to say about this new Photoready foundation-
What it claims:

Price:
Rs 850/ $20 approx.
Application Tips:
Press pump to disperse formula. Apply with fingertips starting in the center of face and blend outward.
Packaging:
Love the packaging!! It comes in a sturdy pump out bottle of 30ml. The bottle with a black cap looks very sleek and beautiful and the pump enables you to take out as much as you require. The only thing is that it’s a glass bottle so may face some inconvenience in carrying it around which was surely not a problem in the Colorstay Active Light makeup foundation.
In the mirror of my experience:
After a fab experience with the Revlon Colorstay range-it’s foundation, concealer and compact, I decided to try out their Photoready range. I got this foundation just around 2 days ago and have applied it once and took some pics. And I was just amazed at the fact that it blended and got absorbed into my skin so flawlessly and spread very quickly covering the whole of the face within seconds!! It feels so light and gives an awesome coverage which is even more than the Colorstay foundation. It also gave a lovely shine and glow to my face which evidently showed in the photos. So I would say that once I wear this I’m Photoready!!
The good pints:
- As I’ve mentioned, that this thing just spread all over my face within seconds and it blended really flawlessly and smoothly.
- The texture is very fine and it seems as if I haven’t worn any foundation.
- It never ever broke me out.
- It has medium to build able coverage. I would say the coverage is pretty good. I don’t need any concealer after wearing this foundation. But if one has noticeable spots on the face, a light touch of concealer application will be enough.
- In spite of it’s impressive coverage, it’s amazingly light weight which is really specialty of this foundation.
- This foundation is especially designed for photography, and I think it works finely on the skin.
- It gives a clear glow which shows in the photographs and after using and taking pictures I can say that it’s really one of the best foundations for photography.
- It gives a flawless, soft, dewy & non cakey coverage.
- It comes in a sturdy pump bottle. The bottle is beautiful and easy to use.
- It has SPF 20 which is a fact that I love.
- And yes, it gives a hint of "glow", which others call it a bit of shimmer( oh I love this glow)
- No streaking and no allergies or breakouts.
- Very easy to blend with both brush and sponges
- I can mix with other foundation. I’m thinking to mix it with my ColorStay foundation for try.
- It has no weird scent.
- It holds up quite well in summers, does not oil up.
- It works well on both dry and oily skin. This can be clear by the fact that even my sis got it 3-4 days ago and she is very glad to have it for her oily skin.
Bad points
- It’s not as light weight as my ColorStay Active Makeup foundation but if you want a full coverage, you can find it best.
- If you are office going and want a light coverage, it’s not for you.
- Only 4 shades are available in India so be very careful while choosing your shade.
Final thoughts
I really do love this foundation coz it has an amazing coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. The shine in this is great if you want that youthful, healthy glow. If you don’t want much glow in your photograph, you can set it and reduce the shine with Revlon PhotoReady Pressed Powder. Many people do compare it with MUFE HD foundation as well so one can say that this is a drugstore version of HD makeup. If I compare it with Revlon ColorStay liquid foundation, I find both of them amazing.

Would I buy it again?
Oh for sure guys. Love it.
Recommendation
Of course yes.
And now here's a small tutorial showing how I apply this foundation and how it looks on me:
So what do you think about this foundation. If you are a photograph junkie, you should get it for sure!!

Revlon Colorstay Active Light Makeup foundation-review, swatches
Many of my readers have asked me several times to review the Colorstay foundation that I've been using in most of my makeup looks so today I decided to write about my favorite liquid foundation. You would be surprised to know the fact that earlier I didn't use any foundation but when I started to use it it was only Rimmel liquid foundation,Chambor stick & liquid foundation and I was quite satisfied with them but this time I decided to buy this foundation for some reasons. First I wanted a change in my foundation range & brand and secondly I had heard a lot about this foundation. My blogger friend Anju suggested me to try this one. According to her this foundation is much better than Mac studio Finish foundation so these were the reasons I picked up this foundation.
What Revlon ColorStay Active claims
Sweat proof. Light coverage and all skin types
What it does?
Gives you light, sweatproof coverage with SPF 25 that keeps up with your active lifestyle.
How it works?
Exclusive ColorStay formula sweatproof and breathable for fresh all day look that won’t rub off even after exercise.
How to get the look
Apply in one area at a time, blending quickly. It is oil free. Non- pore clogging. Non irritating.
Key Ingredients:
Octinoxate, Titanium dioxiode, Zinc Oxide, Cyclomethicone , Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Juice.
Packaging:
This foundation comes in a squeezy tube, which is pretty ok with me, I would much rather have a squeezy tube or a compact cream foundation than a glass bottle which be difficult to carry about. This tube is so easy to take out any where and even it’s so easy to take it out for applying. There is no fear of the foundation getting wasted. No fear of breaking which is always prevalent in the bottle packaging.

In the mirror of my own experience:
I always like a light weight foundation which makes me feel natural. This foundation has provided me the same feeling that I've wanted. I apply this with my finger tips in dots all over my face then blend it with my fingers, it applies very easily and looks natural. I love that it doesn't dry out or look cakey on my skin, which many foundations tend to. I think this would work for oily skin too since it stays on and does not transfer. It gives a very soft and pearly finish to my skin and even sometimes I don’t need to apply a compact powder especially in winters. It matches with my skintone very nicely. This stuff is supposed to provide "smooth, radiant, light coverage that lasts up to 16 hours even during exercise with SPF 25 as it claims. Although I never do exercise with in makeup but if I do I’m sure it would work surely because the lasting power of this foundation is amazing.
Good points
It has a silky texture. Can be applied equally well with foundation brush or fingers. I use a brush to place, fingers to blend.
It has a natural, semi matte finish. Great for Normal skin; even can be a little for combination, oily and dry too. Dry skinned girls can apply it with thick moisturizer and they don’t need to touch a compact powder.
It gives a perfect glow to my skin making it flawless and radiant. The glow clearly can be seen on the skin.
It has amazing lasting power. On my skin, 10 to 12 hrs without powder before fading, 14-16 hrs with powder. Isn’t that amazing??
SPF 25 is just awesome!!
It’s so light weight and you can apply it daily for out going out and for offices. The decent lasting power make you tension free.
The product is worth the price.
Bad points
It comes only in 4 shades which is not enough for everyone. The shades should have been more.
