Hey guys,
This is the latest tutorial that I've decided to re-upload from my old channel. This is one of my favorite looks when I created it last year, I love the contrast of the gold and purple. This is also one of my sister's favorite looks which she often asks me to recreate on her.
EYES:
- Two Faced Shadow Insurance
- Indianwood paint pot

- Carbon eye shadow
- Vanilla eye shadow
- Non-Conformist fluidline
- Inglot #379 (matte blue-purple) eye shadow - you could also use Parfait Amour eye shadow

CHEEKS:
- Inglot #35 (neutral cantaloupe with silver shimmer) blush
- Inglot #57 (neutral pink-based brown with silver shimmer) blush
LIPS:

- Pupa Ultra Reflects lipgloss in "#07"
I hope you guys like this look as much as I do. Please send me photos if you try it out and I'll feature them on my blog. Thanks again

Dragon flies.
These are just simple nail stickers, but I love how they turned out on this purple by Color Club.
i even wore this design for work, and because I did not go all out on the design over the color, they did not draw unwanted attention for being unprofessional.

Nail Foils Collection and Descriptions - Purple Foils
Now on to my favorite list of nail foils, the purples! As most of you will know by now purple is one of my favorite colours so I was really excited to see what these foils would be like. I purchased these foils from Dollar Nail Art using my own money. In this post you will find product photos, close ups of the individual foils and also a brief description.
If you do not know what nail foils are or how to use them please follow this link to see my Introduction to Nail Foils post.

If you do not know what nail foils are or how to use them please follow this link to see my Introduction to Nail Foils post.
Geisha Plum:
Geisha Plum is a slightly dirty looking grey purple with a hint of a red tinge to it that is lightly darker than Purple foil. It has not pattern to it but a nice mirror like reflect. Imperial Iris:
Imperial Iris and a pretty deep blue based purple with a nice holographic reflect to it. When the light hits this foil it reflects blue, pink, purple and red creating a really pretty holographic effect. This has a similar look to Gold Spectrum expect with a different base colour to it.Lavender:
Lavender, as its name suggests is a solid pale purple foil with a highly reflective metallic finish. It is more of a grey purple than a blue purple which is kind of like. There is no pattern to this foil at all it is just a solid colour.
Lilac Crush:
Lilac Crush has a similar pattern to it like Diamond Red or Gold Crush with its tile like appearance except it has a lilac base. The tiles in this foil reflect a really pretty combination of green, teal, blue, pink and a light and dark purple depending on how the light hits it creating a really gorgeous holographic effect. Although this is a pretty simple foil, its one of my favorites. Periwinkle:
Periwinkle is a pretty purple foil with more of a blue base than any of the other purple foils shown here. The pattern on the foil is a mix between the tile look of Lilac Crush and the swirl look of Scarlet Frost. The pattern reflects a really pretty combination of blue, dark purple and teal depending on where the light hits it. Plum Drops:
Plum Drops has a red based purple foil similar in colour to Tanzanite Fire. The pattern on this foil looks like water droplets on plastic. The water droplet pattern reflects pink, red, blue and purple depending on which way the light hits it creating a pretty holographic effect. Out of all of the purple foils, this one is my favorite. Purple:
Purple is a blue based purple foil with a highly reflective metallic finish. It is darker and more blue purple than the Lavender foil. There is no pattern to this foil, it is just a solid colour. Tanzanite Fire:
Tanzanite Fire is a similar colour to Imperial Iris except it has more of a red base to it. The pattern on it resembles that of water in a pond. The ripple like effect on this foil reflects blue, purple, punk and red depending on where the light hits it creating a really pretty holographic reflect. To see this foil used please check tartofraises1's out video on Youtube here Vivacious Violet:
Vivacious Violet is very similar in colour to Purple foil, the only difference is that it is slightly darker. You don't really need to buy both of these foils because they are so similar and I would personally go with the Purple foil over the Vivacious Violet because it is a little brighter. There is no pattern to this foil only a mirror-like metallic finish.Previous Post: "Nail Foils Collection and Descriptions - Pink Foils"

Ok, I'll be honest, I'm kinda cheating with this look considering I posted it on my other channel (GothidgeAngel) back in March of this year, but I really didn't want to see such a pretty look go to waste.

And more purple
Not really sure why i have been in a purple mood recently, but I just got these new nail brushes and decided to try doing tips again. I failed, but my boyfriend gave me this design idea. I love how it turned out. It reminds me so much of icicles though, so be prepared to see it again when the weather gets cold again.
Done with 2 coats of Sally Hansen's Lacey Lilac and I striped on Sally Hansen's HD Cyber
This design was super easy and fun to do, but the Lacy Lilac was a bit thick and a pain to apply.

Purple Purple Purple FOTD
Here's a purple look I came up with today. I really wanted to play around with my new R&R tempting eyeshadow! I'm pretty happy with how it came out and I'm glad I was able to incorporate my new nars shadows as well from the habanera duo and nouveau monde duo. i love purples ;)
Nars Nouveau Monde lilac on inner lid, R&R tempting on lid, Nars Habanera plum on outer lid, R&R skintight as highlight
Face:
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Nude mixed with Revlon skin illuminator in bare light
Laura Mercier secret camoflauge and secret concealer pot
Mac MSFN
Nars Laguna
Nars Deep Throat
Mac Hush on cheekbones
Anastasis brow powder in brunette
Eyes:
Nars Nouveau Monde lilac, Nars Habanera, Plum, Rock and Republic Tempting & Skintight
Mac Wedge to blend edges
Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in black ink
Covergirl lashblast
Lips:
NYX nude pink lip liner
Revlon colorburst lipstick in petal
Revlon super lustrous lipgloss in pink whisper
(wasn't sure what to use on my lips today! lol)
I think I need to get my hands on a light, cool pink blush, maybe that would have complimented the look better! What do you think? i always have trouble matching my eye looks with blush and lips!
Until next time! thanks for looking!

Smokey Night Owl EOTD
Bare Escentuals Glimmer "Night Owl" all over the lid, Too faced Lap Dance on center of lid, Mac Signed Sealed on the outer v, Mac Shroom to highlight, Mac Wedge to blend crease |
I put signed sealed on the lower lashline (outermost part) and lap dance on the rest. |
I absolutely love using my bare escentuals "night owl" glimmer. I received this as part of a Sephora VIB gift a year or two ago and have been in love with it ever since. It's a really gorgeous shimmery grey amethyst color with a touch of brown. It usually pulls more grey, but for some reason over my benefit skinny jeans the color turns into a much darker taupe-y brown with a touch of purple. I will do some swatches for it later, but it's a beautiful shadow if you can get your hands on it! Then I just added a little too faced lap dance (from the Naked Eye palette) for a little dimension on the lid!
Products Used:
Face:
Laura Mercier oil-free primer and oil-free tinted moisturizer in nude
Revlon age defying skin illuminator in bare light (mixed in w/ the tinted moisturizer)
Laura Mercier secret concealer and secret camoflauge
Mac mineralized skin finish natural
nars oasis
nars laguna
Eyes:
Mac Painterly Paint Pot as a base
Benefit Skinny Jeans all over the lid
Mac shroom, wedge, signed sealed
Bare Escentuals glimmer Night Owl
Too Faced Lap Dance
Covergirl Lashblast
Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner
Anastasia brow powder in Brunette
Lips:
Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in bordeaux (this photographed much lighter, but it's actually more of a dark reddish raspberry color).
Thanks for looking! Would appreciate any advice on blush and lip pairings, i always have difficulty with that! :)

Nars Ondine
Nars Ondine is a beautiful taupey/purpley/brown with gold shimmer throughout. It's a sort of complex color to describe... at times it hints more plum, at other times it is more brown. The texture is buttery, pigmented, and not too sheer or too opaque...it is very easy to build the color. I love it as a lid color with a deeper purple or dark brown in the crease. It's also perfect in the crease with pretty much any lighter neutral on the lid.
You can sort of catch the gold sparkle in it. As long as I tap the brush off really well, I don't experience any fall out with it! |
