REVIEW: ES False Eyelashes By Jilliandanica

ES False Eyelashes come in paper boxed sets of 10 and are made in Korea of synthetic fibers.

A218 is priced at $10.24. They're made of soft, black fibers and are fuller in the base with long wispy ends. The band is a cotton string so application was a bit tricky. The first time I tried applying these, I did as I normally would...apply glue, let it get tacky and then apply to lid. This didn't work out too well because the band absorbed the glue and wouldn't adhere to my lid. I tried again and just applied more glue and it worked out better. I think the glue that absorbed into the band reinforced it somehow. It was easier to shape and apply. These lashes blended into my natural lashes well and felt really light. After a while I totally forgot I had them on because they were that comfortable. Aside from application issues, I think these are great! I'm wearing them here:

A013 is priced at $2.80. My first impression of these was that they'd be stiff and uncomfortable like other Korean lashes I've tried. The band is stiffer than the A218 because it is made up of 2 rows of string instead of 1. I played with the band a bit to make them more flexible and applied as usual. These were much easier to apply but not nearly as comfortable. I could feel the stiffness and the lashes weren't as soft.

A020 is priced at $6.84. I have never worn or applied lower lashes before so this was a learning experience. I need to play around with them more, but I actually really liked the added fullness to my lower lashes. The band is clear and was easy to shape. The lashes were a natural length and were surprisingly comfortable. I used a dark lash glue, but I should probably stick with clear for the bottom ones. I'll definitely be trying these out with more looks.

I'm using both A013 and A020 in this look:

Overall, I think these lashes are a great value but consider them as more of a wear 'n' toss lash. The quality of the lashes are great for single-use but I don't think they're resilient enough for multiple wears and cleanings. Out of the ones I tried, I would reorder A218 and A020 and keep them in my kit. I think these lashes would be great for frequent falsies wearers and freelancers. The packaging is a space saver and the price just can't be beat! Sets start as low as $2.30 and are available at KKCenterHK.com. They are shipped from Hong Kong and I received mine in about 2 weeks.

Review: Eyelashes van KKCenterhk By CherryFizzNL

Draag jij weleens nepwimpers?

Wedding Inspired Makeup / Tutorial

Hey Beauties,
I'm always behind on my blog posts.  wahhh!  lol.  Whenever I do a tutorial on youtube, I always mean to post it here in case some of you don't keep up with the youtube sceen.  BUT as usual, I'm always a week or so late.  Ops!

Anywho.. This video was requested by Norton811, who is one of my subscribers on youtube. She asked  me to do a wedding makeup tutorial but not for an actual wedding.  She mostly wanted it because she loves how wearable wedding makeup can be.  The products used and the order of application aren't necessarily what I would use or do for wedding makeup. This is more inspired by wedding makeup, something that will enhance your natural beauty. :)

Liz Earle Energising Body Wash and Scrub: The Perfect Bath Combination

Liz Earle is quickly making waves for its quality skin and body care, and I can see why. While I can't personally claim to like all their products, even when they haven't worked for me I coudn't fault the quality of the products. The last time I reviewed their products, I looked at the Energising Body Lotion, and guess what - there's a complementary body wash and body scrub to go with that too!

The Energising Body Wash and Energising Body Scrub all come in the same pastel sky blue plastic container packaging. Once again, as with the Energising Body Lotion, these were sensibly packaged products with flip-top caps for easy access in the shower. And like the body lotions, these come in packages that aren't actually that big - 200ml is a decent amount of body scrub if you don't use it everyday, but I can imagine 200ml of body wash being gone quite soon.

Liz Earle Body Wash Scrub

As with the Energising Body Lotion, the accompanying Body Scrub and Wash are both scented with the same herbal scent that's actually quite strong. However, while the scent seems to linger around more with the body lotion, with the scrub and the wash, the scent didn't seem to last as long - which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on your preferences.

The Body Wash is in a gel form, and comes with all these cute litte bubbles inside the gel, that I think are actually pretty cute!

liz earle energising body wash

It's not creamy or liquid-y like most other body washes that I've used in the past, so I found it rather refreshing to use, tying in very nicely with the "energising" portion of things. Also, I found that this did not lather as well as some of the more commericial brands of body wash, probably due to the fact that with natural ingredients, it can be hard to find something that causes lather. It does seem to me that, as a general rule, natural skin and body care products don't seem to foam as much as conventional products. Still, I was quite impressed with the lather that was there:

I found the Energising Body Wash to be pretty moisturizing, and it rinsed off well without leaving any residue on the skin. And I actually also quite liked the faint scent it left behind, so I have no complaints about this product at all.

The Energising Body Scrub is also in gel form, but this one has little brown bits that are meant to scrub and exfoliate your body. The little brown bits are actually ground up olive stones! Cool, right?

The scrub also smells like the body wash and body lotion, and I really enjoyed the scent wafting up as I scrubbed my skin. One of the things I also liked very much was that the olive stones weren't harsh on my skin at all, but at the same time, I could feel the exfoliating going on. It's a fine balance to strike, and I think this was well acheived in the product.

I was also quite surprised to see that this one lathered very well - in fact, I think it lathers almost like a conventional product! I have no idea what natural ingredients were used to acheive this, or perhaps it could have been my scrubbing motions, but this one produced quite a nice amount of foam and bubbles.

Like the body wash, it also washed off well, and didn't dry out my skin, or leave it sensitive and red. I actually really like this product.

So do you need this? If bathcare products are one of the things you treat yourself to, or if you are a bath junkie, then this would be worth your while. But of course, body washes are available cheaply and can be picked up anywhere for cheap, so if you'd like to try just one, I'd probably spring for the Body Scrub.

Biotique Fresh Nourishing Conditioner

Hi everyone,

Today I’m reviewing Biotique Bio Watercress Fresh nourishing conditioner which I bought around a month ago.

I had been using L’Oreal conditioner before it but due to a bit of hair falling, I wanted to try some other conditioner too.

What Watercress Fresh nourishing conditioner claims-

This nourishing formula silkens and strengthens hair for healthy- looking body and shine. Keeps color and perm in place. Protects hair against environmental dryness and damage.

Major Ingredients:

Neem (Azairachta indica) 2.0%, Gajar (Daucus carota) 2.0%, Ghrit kumari (Aloevera barbadensis) 2.0%, Kheera (Cucumis sativus) 2.0%, Bizora Nimbu (Citrus medica) 2.0%, Pudina (Mentha arvensis) 2.0%, Jav (Hordeum vulgare) 2.0%, Bihidana (Pyrus cydonia) 5.0%, Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) 2.0%, Ankurit gehun (triticum vulgare germinate) 2.0%, Himalayan water Q.S.

How to use-

Apply liberally to wet, cleansed hair and massage in gently. Leave on for one minute. Rinse well with water.

Price- Rs 159

My experience-

My hair feels a bit dry in winter. I haven’t ever colored my hair but I know that the conditioners which are made for colored or permed hair are usually good for dry hair so I chose this one.

After applying it when I washed my hair after 3-4 minutes, I was disappointed because I didn’t feel any smoothness in my hair. But after sometimes when my hair became dry and I combed it, I felt my hair quite smooth and shiny.

What I like in this conditioner?

I like its lovely smell. This smell makes me happy after drying my hair too.

It has a gel based texture. You have to take it out from the bottle on to your palm and rub before applying.

Although I didn’t feel any difference after washing it but love the effect it gives after an hour or so when my hair dries up.

It makes my hair smooth and silky.

I can feel a clear difference in my hair after one months use.

I don’t know that it’ll be effective on colored or premed hair coz my hair are not colored or so.

It’s a herbal product so I’m sure that it’ll not harm my hair.

The price is reasonable.

What I don’t like in this product?

As this conditioner is gel based so a big quantity is required to cover the whole of my hair.

This is not a pump out bottle so it’s difficult to take out required quantity. There is always a risk of too much coming out.

Although the price is quite reasonable but as far as quantity is concerned, and the rate at which it finishes so quickly it should be even less.

Rating-

3.25/5

Will I buy it again?

Nice product but there much better conditioners in the market so I’ll try others too.

Will I recommend it?

Hmm no, because I’m not fully satisfied so I can’t recommend it to others but if you are a fan of Biotique’s products, you can try it.

So have you tried this conditioner? Which ones are you using these days?

Princess Lee Lashes By Dempeaux

When KKCentreHK.com got in touch with me and asked me to review some false lashes of my choice from their wesbite, I knew exactly what I wanted to try.
Princess Lee false eyelashes have a cult following in Asia, but they are incredibly difficult to get your hands on as they sell out as soon as they hit the shelves. Knock-offs of these lashes abound because they are so popular, but KKCEntreHK.com sells the real thing.  Each lash band is handmade in Taiwan from human hair and the lashes are placed into very simple packaging.  You get 10 pairs in each packet, which is incredibly good value.
These are, without a doubt, the most natural full strip lashes I have ever used.  I usually take the time to apply individual false lashes if I’m going out somewhere special, and whilst the effect is lovely and natural, it takes forever. I usually take 20 minutes to do both eyes, and I need to make sure that each eye has the same amount of long and medium lashes to create a uniform cat-eye look.
With the Princess Lee lashes in cross 7 black (1.1cm), I just apply the full strip and I’m done.  They are undetectable to even the most enquiring eye.
The very soft lash band makes these lashes confortable to wear during the day and easy to mould to the shape of your eye.  It’s the criss-cross pattern which makes them look so natural.
In the past I’ve worn MAC, Red Cherry, and Ardell false lashes, and Princess Lee beats them all hands down.  The Princess Lee lashes look far more natural, are more comfortable to wear, and flatter the eye.
Each lash is made in the ‘Princess Lee style’ which is the delicate criss-cross pattern you can see in the lashes below:
Compare the Princess Lee lashes to the Girls Aloud lashes I saw in Priceline yesterday:
The Girls Aloud lashes look much more dramatic.
I pulled out some other false eyelashes in my collection to compare to the Princess Lee lashes. Below are a pair of Ardell Wispies, which are incredibly long and reach almost up to my eyebrow. These Ardell lashes also have the longest lashes in the middle, and I really prefer a more cat-eye effect like the Princess Lee lashes:
These Red Cherry lashes in #68 are also incredibly long and look very strange with the lashes bunched in the way they are.  Also, the lashes that sit at the inner corner are very long indeed, so they look unnatural on the eye:
Finally, these MAC #7 lashes are touted to be the most natural in MAC’s false lash range, but I’ve never really been happy with the effect.  Although the lashes that sit at the inner corner are a good length, like the Red Cherry lashes the way the lashes are bunched looks very unnatural on the eye:
So, back to Princess Lee.
As each lash is stuck down to a cardboard backing for shipping, you will need to cut off the extra lash band before you apply them.  The lash band does look long, but these lashes fitted my eyes with no problems. Remember that if you do need to cut them, start from the side with the tallest lashes and work your way in until you achieve the desired length.
To show you the way the lashes impact the look of the eye, I’ve taken a series of photos illustrating the difference on me.  Below is a picture of my eye with some hastily-applied eyeshadow and a little brown liner on the top lash line. My lashes do not have any mascara on them:
One coat of mascara applied:
Lashes applied. Note that the lash band is noticeable but quite discrete. I have used Duo Lash Adhesive in dark:
Here I’ve applied a thin line of Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in black to disguise the lashband and complete the look:
These lashes look incredibly natural viewed from any angle:
I’ve taken a photo looking down here because I always find that this is when false eyelashes look the most noticeably unnatural.  However, the Princess Lee lashes look very natural indeed:
They look great behind glasses too, and don’t overpower the rest of my face.  For some reason in the photos below the lashes on the right of my right-hand eye disappeared in the flash, but they are clearly visible in real life:
Better yet, these lashes are on special at the moment, and I plan to stock up. The ones I’ve used here (Cross 7 black 1.1cms) are the shortest, but with these great results I’m keen to try the 1.2 and 1.3cm lashes too.
These Princess Lee lashes usually sell for USD $17.60 on their website, but are currently on special for USD $12.85.  Shipping costs USD $2.50 to Australia.
