This Is Not Nude on Nude

At first glance this could look like NYX's Nude On Nude palette, and if you're thinking that I already did a Nude on Nude review, then all I have to say is Thank You, you read my last blog post. :)
Apparently this is so similar to Nude on Nude, that when I showed them to my other makeup junkie friend, she asked if I had bought 2 of the same palette. But I couldn't resist. ULTA was having a BOGO sale on NYX and these are the colors I gravitate towards, and though they look the same, they're definitely not.
It is in a sleek black compact box that fits into the palm of your hand, housing a mirror, 9 shadows, 2 lip color, and a dual shadow/lip brush. There are 3 finishes: matte, shimmer and velvet. The 2 lip colors are just... ugly. In my opinion, I will never use them.
The shades are warmer than the Nude palette because it's the Bronze palette. (ha)
The shades are great for summer time. Sun kissed skin and this palette will go hand in hand. I'll use it all year round though.
The shadows in this palette are better than the Nude palette. The shadows are extremely pigmented and blend flawlessly without creating a muddy, ruddy mess. They are soft, smooth and don't have any fallout (i haven't created any at least)
All the shades compliment each other so you can create a sexy eye quickly, or just sweep one color on the you lid and you'll be good to go.

Pros: pigmented, soft, portable, blendable, sleek, cheap.
Cons: the two lips colors.

Just like the Nude on Nude palette this is a must have.
Two thumbs up

Eye makeup for today

Hi friends,
Hope you all are fine. As everyone knows that march is here which means the spring season should be here…but in my city it seems as if the winters are not in a mood to leave :D The sky is all gray here as if the sky has done a light smokey look ;D :D
Anyways leave it, today I’m posting a lovely eye makeup of my sweet sister, to whom you all have been introduced before also ( Remember the lovely bride). This eye makeup will suit heavy dresses for function or festival. Will look nice on Indian sari or Lehnga dress.

Here the eye makeup is bit heavy so I have kept the lip color light and subtle for balancing the whole look.

I have used these products for this eye makeup:
Oriflame eye concealer
Colorbar eyeliner

Green shade from Maybelline quad (boo…it’s showing blue here!!)

Maroon from Lakme Desert rose quad

Revlon eye pencil

Revlon mascara

For the lips-

Amway lipstick( don’t know the shade name coz it was her’s)

So this is what i did on my sis when she had visited my place around a month ago. Hope you liked it :D

KK Center HK False Eyelashes By Confessions of a Beautyholic

I received some new goodies from KK Center HK and I am super excited! If you don't know KK Center HK yet, I'd suggest to have a look at their website. KK Center HK sells a variety of false eyelashes, wigs, make up and other beauty supplies for affordable prices. They ship internationally and packages arrive quite fast (in average 2 weeks) when you think they actually come from Hong Kong. They also provide a tracking number, so you can check where your goods are in case there's any delay.

I have ordered an eyelash tool from Born Pretty Store to help me apply false eyelashes, so I can wear them more often. I know practice makes it perfect, but currently it takes me 15-20 min each time. I believe an eyelash applicator will cut this time dramatically and will make everything much easier! I can't wait to get my new gadget, so I can start wearing false lashes more often. False lashes do make a real difference to any make up look.

I made a link on each title, so if you decide to check them out, you will be direct to the page where you can read further about the product.

(Note: I am not affiliated in any way to KK Center HK, so I am not being paid commission in case you decide to purchase any item)

These are perfect for a party look!

They cost only $0.90 each pair, they are re-usable and made of synthetic material.

Cosmos Pre Glued Eyelashes

This pair is one of my favourites. They are made of real human hair. They are pre glued, so there's no need for eyelash glue. You simply warm up the lashes for a few seconds with a hair drier prior to applying them, so they stick better. I'm kinda of saving these for a special night, 'cause they are so beautiful!

They retail for $6.20

Thermidor Silver Lashes

I had my eyes on this pair for ages.... you can not go wrong with such a gorgeous pair. They have a little bit of silver glitter on top that will be noticeable when you close your eyes. The best thing about this lashes: they cost only $1.80!!

Slant Purple and Brown Lashes

These will look gorgeous with either a neutral brown look or a purple look. They are very fashionable and will be great fun to use! They cost $2.50 for the box with 5 pairs, that's $0.50 per pair... a bargain!

AK False Eyelashes

Ak False eyelashes come in a box with 5 pairs. They are handmade and also synthetic. They look absolutely gorgeous on! I have some pictures below wearing these. I wore them for 18 hours and they were still in place at the end of the day. I used Duo Lash Adhesive.

They retail for $12.50

VM 19 Ballerina Brand Eyelashes

These lashes look super natural. They are made of synthetic fibre and come in a pack of ten pairs. They retail for $13.20

I won't repeat myself saying how much I loved these lashes and how great they are in quality. I do think they are a real bargain.

I am wearing AK False Eyelashes on the picture below. I made a look with Urban Decay book of shadows II and this pair of lashes were just the final touch needed. I took these pictures after a few hours wearing them.

By the way, I noticed that KK Center HK also sells Manly 120 palette for only $12.30! I'm not sure about shipping costs, but it is worth to check it out if you don't own one yet.

Just out of interest: How often do you wear false lashes?

I loooove wearing lower lashes. And these are FANTASTIC! i usually pay around 500yen [USD$6] for a pair of them and a box of these have TEN pairs! The band is clear so they are easy to wear! I know many ppl say they are afraid to wear lower lashes cos it might seem too obvious etc but try these! With a clear band, they look very natural i think!

Did I Get NAKED?

The Urban Decay NAKED Palette might be the most wanted and hyped palette ever created, and I have been eying it for a good while myself. And the other day Sephora was back in stock! I was super excited, I went online right away.
So, did I get NAKED?
These swatches are nude in shade, pigmented, and soft.

But, for those of you who know the NAKED Palette, you will notice that these swatches are missing 3 colors, though they are similar, I did not get NAKED, but I did get NUDE.
I instead, and impulsively got the NYX Nude on Nude Natural Look Kit.
I had come upon around 40 dollars of some extra money that I could spend freely, and why not spend it at the ULTA? I want the NAKED Palette desperately but would settle for any Urban Decay palette that had Half-Baked and Twice-Baked in it, but sadly, a lot of the palettes there were sold out :(
Then I decided on the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, but after looking around and swatching some other palettes, I decided I wasn't going to settle for something that was just as expensive as Urban Decay, but not what I wanted.

So I made my way to the NYX section because I have been wanting some of their glitter liners and some more jumbo eye pencils, maybe the Winter In Moscow Palette or one of the Runway Palettes, but my eyes were drawn to their Look Kits and i was gone, I only had eyes for them.
There are 4 Look Kits: Smokey Look Kit, Purple Smokey Look Kit, Bronze Smokey Look Kit, and the Nude On Nude Natural Look Kit. I picked up the nude and the bronze, but the bronze is for a different post.
These were impulse buys. I had no idea these palettes existed, I usually research the products I want, read reviews. But if I didn't buy this right away, I wasn't sure I'd see it again, it was the only one left, I mean, the NYX section was ravaged through.
I open this immediately because I just had to look at the colors in person and touch them, just a little. It comes in a sleek little black box that is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. There are 9 shadows with 3 different finishes. Matte, Satin and Shimmer. There are also 2 lips colors (that I probably won't use, because I don't care about them). The shadows are soft and pigmented, but they are a tad powdery, so this may cause some fallout if you don't take measures to prevent it.
I am in love with every shadow in this palette, and the best part is, after doing some researching on it, I found out that it is considered a dupe for the NAKED Palette, the palette I wanted all along! If that wasn't fate, then I don't know what it.

Pros: pigmented, soft, blendable, cheap, sleek packaging, portable.
Cons: powdery, small amount of shadow.

All in all, I believe that the cons mean nothing with all the pros of this palette. I would recommend this as a must have for most people.
Do you like nude palettes?
Are you lusting over the NAKED Palette?
Do you like inexpensive yet great palettes?
Then get the NYX Nude On Nude Natural Look Kit!!
It's a no brainer. Two Thumbs Up
