Crest 3D Whitening White strips review

Good morning everyone,

Wow, i'm really on a roll with blogging right? My third new post within two days! Maybe I should start a 30 day blogging challenge or something! It's Saturday morning, and London is so gloomy and miserable today, i won't be going anywhere, i have so much work to catch up on. I hope all you you guys are enjoying your weekends though =)

I bought Crest 3D White whitestrips in advanced vivid and have the course of 2 weeks now.
I was thinking about using whitening strips for a while, i had tried to look around for some good reviews first because I was worried the strips would cause my teeth to fall out!! However i couldn't really find all the answers i was looking for. Therefore, this post is going to be a detailed dialogue of my experience with using the strips.

Why am i using this product? Take a look for yourself:

click on the pic to enlarge it, btw that blue Hello Kitty Handbag with the teddies isn't mine!! It belongs to the little girl i was sitting next to!
As you can see, my teeth are yellow =( I love smiling, but i felt that my yellow teeth makes me scared to smile properly in photo's. So i decided to try out whitening strips.
But why use whitening strips and not go to the dentist?
Well, the pack of 14 pouches i bought cost me £25.00 and to get my teeth whitened professionally would have cost me £400, you do the math. If the strips didn't work out, getting my teeth professionally whitened was something on my to-do list anyways, so I thought why not try the cheaper option first!

Here are the pictures (i already feel myself cringing), before you say it, i know my teeth aren't pretty! I don't look forward to all the hate mail i'll be getting.

Day1
This is the what the packaging looked like
This is the front, the box got squished by my postman lol

I actually bought the wrong ones, i wanted the professional one (on the far right) but got the advanced (highlighted middle column) instead.

So it comes in 14 pouches that you peel open where the arrow points to.

Inside the pouch are two strips, the top is for the top set of teeth, the bottom is for the bottm set. The latest version (professional seal) has a longer bottom strip, if i bothered to read before i buy, i would have so bought the newer ones.

So you peel the strip which has the whitening gel on it, place it on your teeth and fold over what's left under your teeth. Because it's all transparent, when it's on, it's not that visable. You can drink with the strips on, but not eat, i totally forgot and had some sweets, bad move!
The instructions advise you to leave the strips on for 30mins per day, but for faster results you can use two pouches per day. After you're done, peel them off and chuck them in the bin. I used a pouch per day =)

When i first applied the strips, i must have got some on my gums because my teeth became quite sensitive afterwards. The strips weren't comfortable at first, the gel got on to my tongue and made it go numb-ish. When i talked, i had a lisp haha! I didn't see any results on the first application.
The instructions said it was best not to put them on right after brushing your teeth, so the first time i used them, i used it about 20mins after brushing my teeth, after i peeled them off i didn't brush my teeth again and slept.

The next day i felt my teeth were tingly and a little sensitive. I was quite freaked out because i don't normally have sensitive teeth, so the change shocked me.

Day 2
I decided to try the strips on again, and maybe my sensitivity would go away, following the same routine. However, the next day, my teeth's sensitivity became stronger.
Day 2, not much of a difference

Day 3-4
So by the third day i was thinking "ok, this was a bad idea, all my teeth are going to drop off, or my teeth will hurt forever and i won't be able to eat ice cream ever again". But because i'm a loser and didn't want to give up just yet, i thought one last try.
So this time i applied the strips avoiding my gums, and also not pressing the strips into the gaps, the results were much better. The sensitivity died down and i could see a tiny difference in my teeth colour. Also i started whitening my teeth before dinner and not brushing my teeth before. So when i took off the strips, i'd eat, do whatever then brush my teeth and sleep, this helped the sensitivity a lot, i think mainly because there was no gel on my teeth over night.   I carried on with this routine as it worked well for my teeth, the pains had stopped and i could see my teeth slowly changing colour!
It does seem a little whiter.

Day 5-7

It's so difficult to smile in a pic when you know you have to smile wide to show your teeth! Or maybe i'm just weird like that.
Day 7, are you grossed out yet? haha!
Day 8-11

Day 10, this was without flash, i notice my teeth looks whiter without flash...
Day 11
Final days
So this is the final, before and after =)
BEFORE any white strips used

After (Day14)
I know this is a long post, but i just wanted to be as helpful as possible and so that if you decide to try these, you'll know what to expect. I spoke to my cousin who had her teeth professionally done, she told me the sensitivity and tingly feeling was what she felt too, so that made me feel much better and more relieved that it wasn't because my teeth were about to fall off!! I'm not sure if you can see the major difference because of my grey blog background, but as i type this post i can really see the strips worked! Although it's not blindingly white, it still is whiter than before.

I would rate this product 7.5/10.
(+) The results may not be amazing, but it's still noticeable, i was hoping for blinding white teeth, but o wells!
(+) It was easy to apply and take off, although sometimes the gel did stick to my teeth, but that was only when i accidently leave it on for too long, oops...
(+) £25 is affordable
(-) I think the seals aren't great because the gel always seep through to my tongue and irritates it
(-)The bottom strip is too short

So that's my review on The Crest White strips!! I hope this helps anyone who wanted to try them!! I've stopped using them for a week now, no, my teeth haven't all fallen off! My teeth are back to normal, no pain or sensitivity, just a little whiter! If anyone has any questions or worries, feel free to ask me =)

Thank for reading!!
Lots of love xX <3
